Clound deployment for Sync server service

Jan 16, 2014 at 1:29 AM
Hi I am looking at the best way of deployment the Sync server service to Cloud (in my case it is windows Azure). I am able to setup a Azure VM, and deploy the service as a web site in the VM.

it works fine, but to reduce the deployment cost, I am wondering whether is possible to directly deploy the service into a Azure web site(without the VM)?
in another words, if I change those Sync framwork DLL into copied local, will the service be able to work? currently, I installed both x64 and x86 sync framework 2.1 sdk in the VM.

Any thoughts or first hand experience are welcome!

Thanks

Hi,

I have to do the same thing I have a project on Azure cloud that have a service I have created a Sync service to sync the client and it works locally but today when I tried to publish the service on azure and start the sync the sync ends immediately right after Download changes. I do not know if this is a problem of how I published the service in azure or something else.

Could you please tell me how you deployed your solution on Azure?

I have followed the instructions you can find in the Sync framework toolkit..

Thanks in advance for your help

To be more specific,
I have created a service to sync an SQL database using your example Fabrickam and SQLite (client side) after having some problems I got everything working and now I was trying to deploy the service in Azure cloud.

I have followed the instruction on the documentation of the Sync framework toolkit and I have deployed on Azure.

The service is active in the portal but when I run the sync I get this on the debug log

the Sync ends immediately but I do not know really why.

Am I missing something in the configuration of the service in Azure?
Do I have to do something else?

Please I am really stuck on this and I do not find any documentation on how to resolve this.

Thanks very much
